Our Mission
Polly Speaks 4 U is a South African-developed assistive technology platform designed to empower individuals, particularly those with dyslexia and other learning challenges. Our mission is to provide accessible, user-friendly tools for reading, writing, and learning, helping users overcome barriers and gain independence.
Created by Timothy Wood, a dyslexic innovator, Polly Speaks 4 U leverages Microsoft’s web-based products to deliver advanced Text-to-Speech (TTS), voice recognition, and dictation capabilities across all 11 official South African languages.
About the Creator
Crafted by Timothy Wood, a seasoned 62-year-old who has triumphed over the challenges of dyslexia throughout his life. As a fellow dyslexic, Timothy intimately understands how individuals navigate obstacles related to reading, writing, spelling, and grammar.
Drawing from personal experiences, Timothy brings insight into the remarkable ways dyslexics handle tasks that others might find mundane. Whether dealing with professionals like estate agents or lawyers, managing forms for school admission, orchestrating a funeral, composing business quotes or emails, or weaving imaginative short stories, Timothy's expertise is rooted in a dyslexic perspective, offering innovative approaches to everyday challenges.
